Sidecar for Teachable is a browser extension that adds one-click data export to the Teachable admin dashboard. It is built privacy-first: it runs entirely in your browser, and your data never leaves your device.

What the extension accesses

Current-view export (free CSV, plus Pro JSON / Excel / PDF / Insights). When you click one of these, Sidecar reads only the students table on the Teachable page (*.teachable.com) you are currently viewing, and saves it as a file to your computer.
Full export (Pro) — only when you click it. When you click Full export, Sidecar calls Teachable's own student API (/api/v1/users — the same endpoint your admin dashboard already uses) to gather every student across all pages with their full fields, such as phone, tags, sign-up source, sign-in stats, and shipping address. This runs only on that click, is processed entirely in your browser, and the results are saved directly to your computer.

What leaves your device

Nothing. All exports are generated locally and downloaded through your browser. Sidecar has no analytics, no tracking, and no server of its own. It never transmits your Teachable data anywhere — the only network request it ever makes is to Teachable's own API, on your Full export click.

Settings

Your preferences (enabled state, toolbar visibility) are stored using Chrome's storage.sync so they follow your Chrome profile. They contain no personal data from Teachable.

Payments

The optional Pro upgrade is handled by ExtensionPay, with payment processing by Stripe. Sidecar never sees or stores your payment details. Please refer to ExtensionPay's and Stripe's privacy policies for how they handle payment data.

No background activity

Sidecar only acts when you click one of its buttons. It does not run in the background, does not crawl your account on its own, and only operates on *.teachable.com.
